OMG! Look what I found (me and Kevyn Aucoin :)

So I had been assisting Kevyn Aucoin for about a year by the time we got around to doing this column. If anyone remembers he had a monthly column with Allure Magazine and it would of course be a total lie if I said I wasn’t dying for him to use me. But I wouldn’t dare ask for such a thing (that’s the shy Canadian in me)! He did in fact get around to it – I remember the day vividly – we shot Nicole Kidman for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. The photographer was the amazing Patrick Demarchelier and he made an offhand comment about how pretty he thought I was and how he wanted to take pictures of me. I was floored and totally embarrassed, I was just 20 years old and still trying to maneuver my way though this new world of high fashion. I’m pretty sure I did indeed turn bright red and Kevyn had a nice laugh at my expense.
He decided in the limo on the way home we would do a quick shoot for his column. Aside from my 20 year old chubby cheeks, I think it turned out pretty well. A little more makeup then I would normally wear but fun nonetheless. And how many of us mortal women can say we had our makeup done by such a makeup genius.
